The first thing you notice in Lambazouk is the huge positive energy. Lambazouk is danced 'on one' (123 567 or quick-quick-slow) and often to a little bit faster songs than traditional Brazilian zouk. Dancing 'on one' creates a different structure for the dance and you can pick up the breaks without stopping the movement. Like the name already says, there is more influence from Lambada than in the other zouk styles. Lambazouk contains a lot of spinning and the movement in general is more circular. 'Bonecas' and head movements are also very important parts of Lambazouk.

Ricardo has been dancing and studying Lambada, Lambazouk and Brazilian Zouk for 20 years. He is the head of Movimento Lambazouk in São Paulo, Brazil and has been teaching Lambazouk for years all around Brazil, Argentina and Europe. Ricardo is very passionate about his teaching and that can be seen in the results. In his teaching he is very clear and precise and he always gives feedback on his classes. The atmosphere on his classes is always happy and energetic, you are learning while you are having fun. Having fun and spreading the good energy is the most important thing for him in dancing Lambazouk.
